Jammu Tawi, October 2: A complaint alleging threats, harassment and intimidation of a woman and her family has surfaced in Sainik Colony, Jammu, prompting a demand for a fair and time-bound investigation.
Vansheen Sumbriya, a resident of Sector-D, Sainik Colony, has approached the concerned authorities, alleging that a dispute over a payment to a milk vendor escalated into an incident outside her residence.
According to her complaint, when she came outside to clarify the matter, Pala and some members of his family allegedly used abusive and derogatory language against her and made objectionable remarks.
The woman has further alleged that threats were also issued to her husband and other family members. She claimed that remarks concerning the safety of her daughter were made during the incident, leaving the family concerned about their security.
According to the complaint, additional members of the other side allegedly arrived at the spot, creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. The family reportedly remained inside their residence due to concerns for their safety.
The matter has been brought to the notice of the Sainik Colony Police Post. The complainant has stated that CCTV footage and other relevant evidence have also been brought to the attention of the authorities.
Sumbriya has appealed to the administration and law-enforcement agencies to conduct an impartial investigation, preserve available evidence and take action according to law if the allegations are substantiated.
The allegations are currently part of the complaint and have not been independently established. The facts are expected to become clear after investigation.
