SUNDERBANI (RAJOURI), MAY 15: Kalidhar Memorial Army School (KMAS) celebrated its 29th Foundation Day with enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and academic pride at Sunderbani on Friday, marking nearly three decades of contribution in the field of education and nation-building.
As per the release issued to The Grameen Express (TGE), Established in 1997 in memory of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, the institution has emerged as one of the prominent educational establishments of the region. Affiliated with Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education up to Class 10, the school continues to focus on quality education while promoting discipline, leadership, and moral values among students.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal Neeru Sharma, who highlighted the school’s journey and achievements over the years. The celebrations featured patriotic songs, cultural performances, motivational presentations, and award ceremonies, reflecting the talent and confidence of the students.

On the occasion, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the school management, staff, and students towards academic excellence and character building. He also praised the institution for introducing progressive initiatives aimed at preparing students for future challenges.
Highlighting recent developments, Priya Aswal lauded the establishment of a modern technological laboratory for advanced learning, development of a shooting range, coaching facilities for Sainik School aspirants, introduction of Boys and Girls NCC units, and the school’s active participation in inter-school competitions and co-curricular activities.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, alumni, and members of the local community. Distinguished alumni serving in various government departments and professional sectors were felicitated for bringing laurels to their alma mater. Some alumni also joined the celebrations virtually and shared heartfelt messages recalling their memories associated with the institution.
Special recognition was also accorded to dedicated staff members, supportive parents, and distinguished alumni for their valuable contribution towards the growth and progress of the school.
The celebrations concluded with a formal vote of thanks and a renewed pledge by the school fraternity to continue striving for excellence while upholding the ideals on which the institution was founded.
