Ramban Admin Imposes One-Way Traffic System For Commercial Vehicles On J&K Highway

Jammu, Nov 5: The Ramban district administration has introduced a one-way traffic system for commercial passenger vehicles and goods carriers in Ramban town to ease congestion and ensure public safety.

District Magistrate Mohammad Alyas Khan issued the order on Thursday under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Citizen Security Code (BNSS), 2023. The restrictions will remain in force for two months or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

As per the order, all commercial passenger vehicles, including Sumos, buses, mini-buses and Ecos, as well as load carriers, entering or leaving the town will follow the prescribed one-way route.

Vehicles will enter through Shan Palace Naka and proceed via Bowli Bazar, T-Chowk, Bus Stand and Cafeteria Chowk. The Bus Stand will not be accessible to commercial vehicles from the Cafeteria Chowk end, which has been designated exclusively as the exit point.

The administration has also prohibited loading and unloading of goods vehicles along the notified stretches between 8 am and 8 pm.

The order aims to regulate traffic movement and prevent congestion, particularly around the Bus Stand, T-Chowk, Bowli Bazar and adjoining areas.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, SSP Traffic (NHW) and Assistant Regional Transport Officer have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the order, which has come into immediate effect.
