JAMMU Tawi, Oct 03: The political battle between the BJP and the Congress led INDI Alliance is all set to intensify in the days to come as a joint political demonstration on October 7th will be held by all the political parties under the ambit of the INDI block in Jammu

The protest march will be taken out in the city demanding ‘Save Democracy’ besides raising issues related to the electoral process and alleged irregularities.

The decision was taken at a meeting of leaders of the Congress, National Conference, PDP and other constituent parties of the INDI bloc, who discussed and finalised the programme for the proposed campaign today.

According to the programme, the alliance will organise the main march in Jammu on October 7. Similar programmes and public outreach activities will be held in different districts between October 4 and 8.

The sources said the campaign would focus on concerns surrounding the electoral process, including allegations related to voter-list revisions and the deletion of voters’ names.

They also alleged that the electoral system needs greater transparency and accountability.

During the meeting, the participating parties discussed the need to jointly raise these issues before the public.

The leaders said that they would work together to strengthen their campaign and seek safeguards for voters’ rights.

The INDI Alliance has also planned meetings and programmes involving its constituent parties as part of the wider campaign.

The leaders said that the Jammu march would provide an opportunity to highlight their concerns and demand greater transparency in matters concerning elections.

The October 7 programme is therefore expected to bring the leaders and the supporters of the alliance partners together on a common platform in Jammu, with electoral transparency and voter rights forming the central themes of the proposed march.
