Srinagar, Sep 26: Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth on Saturday reviewed the operational preparedness of Rashtriya Rifles units in Kashmir for counter-terrorist operations and called upon troops to remain ‘mission-ready and counter-terror-ready.”
Army said that Gen Seth visited Rashtriya Rifles Sector Headquarters under the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps and reviewed operational preparedness for counter-terrorist operations.He was briefed on the prevailing security situation and measures instituted to detect, deter and decisively respond to terrorist threats.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) commended all ranks for their professionalism, commitment and high standards of operational preparedness.
“He exhorted them to maintain constant vigilance, sharpen intelligence-led operations and retain the ability to respond swiftly and precisely to emerging threats,” the Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) said in a post on X.
He also underscored the importance of seamless synergy and close coordination with all stakeholders to enhance situational awareness and strengthen the overall counter-terror response.
The COAS Commendations were pinned to deserving soldiers for their gallantry and exemplary service, recognising their courage and contribution to counter-terrorist operations.
ADGPI said the Army chief emphasised the need to remain ahead of the threat, maintain relentless operational focus and ensure a coordinated, calibrated response, while safeguarding the safety and security of the people.
“True to the spirit of #JAIseVIJAY, the #IndianArmy remains resolute in countering terrorism, strengthening synergy, protecting the people and maintaining a secure environment,” the post said.
On Friday, the Army Chief had called upon troops posted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir to remain “agile and mission ready”, urging them to embrace the five guiding principles of “VIJAY”.
Gen Seth reviewed operational preparedness along the LOC and was briefed on measures to maintain a robust security posture and strengthen operational capabilities.
In a post on X late Friday, the ADGPI said that Gen Seth commended all ranks for their professionalism, commitment and unwavering readiness.
“He called upon all ranks to embrace the five guiding principles of “VIJAY” as a call to innovate with purpose, adapt with agility, build capability with resolve and anticipate challenges before they emerge, to stay ahead, ensuring the #IndianArmy remains resilient, future-ready and mission-ready,” the post said.
Earlier, on the same day, the Army Chief also interacted with patients and distributed medicines and gifts during the 10th edition of the Mega Eye Surgical Camp under Operation Drishti at Tangdhar in Kupwara. The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) surgeons had performed 220 sight-restoring surgeries at an underground operation theatre in Tangdhar – a shelling-prone area along the LoC.
