Jammu, Oct 8 (TGE): Several areas in and around Katra will face scheduled power shutdowns on October 9 and 10 as the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) carries out preventive maintenance, repair and branch-cutting works, according to an official communication.
As per the shutdown schedule issued by the Office of the Chief Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL Jammu, power supply will be affected in different areas during specified hours on both days.
On October 9, the 33/11 kV Receiving Station at Tarakot will remain shut from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with an estimated 7 MW load curtailment. The shutdown will affect Katra back and Vaishno Devi Bhawan areas.
On the same day, the 132 kV Barn-Katra transmission line, Circuit-2 will undergo preventive maintenance and branch-cutting work from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The notice states that the load will be accommodated on Circuit-1 during the shutdown.

On October 10, the 33/11 kV Receiving Station at Katra will remain shut from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, resulting in an estimated 12 MW load curtailment.
The affected areas on October 10 include Katra, Chintamani, Simsam Hotel, American Hotel, Jammu Road, Kun, Agharjitto and adjoining areas.
The power utility said the shutdown schedule is subject to fair weather conditions and adherence to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure and safety norms for carrying out work on power lines and equipment.
Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements during the scheduled shutdown hours.- (TGE)
